some recipes for babies- thought will be helpful for all new momies

hi ! I thought one of the difficult times were when i started weaning my twin babies( jai and veeru). I  hardly had much cooking experience before n now cooking for babies without sugar and salt at the same time something they would like was some task for me. I checked out a number of sites , tried lots of stuff and now after 2 months of cooking I can now say I luved the whole experience mostly because my kids now love wat I cook for them. I created this blog to share some of the recipes I made, I think this will really help all the new momies b'coz i guess all babies at the end of day behave pretty similarly if not the same!!!

Rules of weaning:
  1. The baby has to be in the perfect mood initially when u start weaning- best time after a small nap, when the baby is little hungry, may be if u time the baby milk then perfect time would be half hour prior to next milk , If ur baby is tired, very hungry, groggy, sleepy then try nything he will just not eat. Later as the time passes by u can feed them even when they r very hungry bcoz by that time they have developed the habit of eating.
  2. Always try giving food which have some natural taste as u have not to add any sugar or salt to the food till 8months ( some pediatricians would say upto 1year) ( basically that's the time for kidneys to mature enough to remove extra salt or sugar from body)
  3. Never feed the baby forcefully, play with the kid so that he starts to luv the time when he eats the food
  4. Always taste what u feed them, u'll have an idea what they like
  5. Try to feed the baby in  his rocker or bouncer or high chair- it makes things simpler for u.
  6. U will develop ur own rules as u start weaning ur baby -

Well I wanted to share some recipes which would help new momies, these i have come up after lots of combinations here n there , i hope they can help u too:

Banana shake:
kids just luv it - try mashing a banana and add some top milk to eat, around 30ml of top milk to one banana mashed.
All kids just luv it, my both babies simply adore it.
I started with dal pani initially but they hated it totally and then i tried the banana it worked wonders!!!

Apple boiled and mashed:
Cut apple into pieces, dont peal them off and boil the apple, mash it and feed the baby.
My jai luvs it but veeru doesn't. So I boiled some grapes alongwith the apple and then mashed them together - well now both like it

Pear boiled and mashed:
Cut pear into pieces, again dont peal it, boil the pear, mash it and feed the baby.
Again veeru luved it but jai didnt like it that much so I mashed grapes alongwith the pear , also tried mashing banana and adding to the pear. both jai n veeru luved it.

Rice:
Boil rice, mash it and then add milk to it. Well kids like it. Veeru used to eat it at times and sometimes not, so I added calcium syrup to his mashed rice and it worked!!!

Vegetable soup:
This is something that will make u more happy than ur kids, as it is full of all vitamins, minerals and proteins. Take some pumpkin, carrot, sugarbeat and tomato, well if kids like sweet taste then add more pumpkin and carrot and if kids like tangy flavour then add more of tomatoes , crust these in a mixer, boil it, and mash it to make a pulp and feed the babies, U can later increase consistency by adding potatoes. I added moong dal instead  later when then got used to the taste as my kids never liked dal alone or dal mixed with rice as it had to bland to taste. As time grows u can add beans, peas, broccoli.

Sweet Potato:
Another thing easy to cook and kids love it. Just peal the sweet potato, boil it and mash it , add some water to make a pulp and feed the baby.

Water:
I tried giving water between feeds to my kids, they never liked it, so I started giving it after vitamin drops , they took some. Then finally I added calcium syrup to 30ml water - jai n veeru luved the strawberry flavoured water!!!

Well its been 2 months now. My kids have turned 6months now. I am about to introduce wheat now. I'll try making new recipes - few they will like , most they'll reject - watever they luv i'll post them on the blog!!!
wish me luck
and happy cooking n feeding to all new momies out there!!!!!!!!

P.S. MORE IDEAS 'N' TIPS WELCOME!!!!
